About PCI
PCI is a leading global CDMO, providing clients with integrated end-to-end drug development, manufacturing, and packaging capabilities that increase their products’ speed to market and opportunities for commercial success. PCI brings the proven experience that comes with more than 50 successful product launches each year and over five decades in the healthcare services business. We currently have 30 sites across seven countries (Australia, Canada, the U.S., Ireland, Wales, Germany, and Spain) and over 4,300 employees that work to bring life-changing therapies to patients.
Leading technology and continued investment enable us to address global drug development needs throughout the entire product life cycle – from manufacturing capabilities through the clinical trial supply chain and into commercialization. Our clients view us as an extension of their business and a collaborative partner with the shared goal of improving patients’ lives.
Our ESG Story
Today more than ever, businesses are uniquely qualified to address the impacts of climate change and social inequality. As part of our commitment to promote social and environmental sustainability, PCI has formally established the Global ESG Program.
We are committed to fostering environmentally sustainable performance, honoring a diverse and inclusive culture, and creating a positive impact on our employees, supply partners, customers, investors, patients, and the communities in which we live and work.
Global ESG Work Team
Our Team includes a dedicated ESG Program Manager, a Steering Committee made up of executive leaders, and ESG representatives from every site, segment, and country. PCI understands that creating a robust ESG Program is a continuous and collaborative process; we aim to prioritize the needs of all stakeholders in driving long-term, value creation that put people and the planet at its center.
Awards
In 2022, PCI was awarded a Bronze Medal sustainability rating by EcoVadis, which placed us in the top 32% of all companies assessed by the organization.
Our corporate score of 54 is a 70% increase from our previous assessment result and effectively puts PCI among the top 32% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis. The improved rating is a result of the collective effort by the Global ESG Work Team as well as the larger PCI employee base who contributed to the process.
EcoVadis monitors sustainability practices across 200 industries and 160 countries on behalf of 75,000 companies. The EcoVadis questionnaire considers four areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. PCI’s clients use EcoVadis ratings to make business decisions that align with their own sustainability initiatives and vision. The global assessment took into consideration the policies, actions, and results from all 15 of PCI’s sites. This milestone showcases our corporate commitment to advancing environmental and social responsibility throughout our growing business.
As the Global ESG Program looks toward the future, key areas of focus will include developing action plans to improve on PCI’s ESG impact categories, improving our performance at the site level, and publishing our progress in an Annual Sustainability Report. For PCI, an effective ESG Program is not just about awards and certificates; it is about the continued development of sustainability initiatives that contribute to a positive impact on the environment and the communities in which we operate.
*This assessment took place in the fall of 2021 before the acquisition of LSNE and the addition of three new sites.
Highlights and Next Step Actions
To date, we have documented existing initiatives site by site, established company baselines against impact categories, and created a multi-year ESG Program Roadmap with targets to drive progress, global alignment, and enhanced governance.
